SEC Bucket List

So, my Hubby, Mr. Holy Turf, is working on a SEC bucket list.  He has a list of 100 things every SEC fan must see or experience in the SEC in their lifetime.  So, all of you die hard (or not so die hard) college football fans should hop on over to HolyTurf and check it out.   Some of the items on his bucket list thus far include Momma G's nachos at Auburn, Florida's famous 2 Bits cheer, 

The Ole Miss student section and "Glory Glory to Ole Georgia."

Travel Tips

Okay, all you mommas.  I need some advice.  

We are planing a trip to San Diego and I need some tips.

1.  What do you do to entertain your two year olds on long plane rides?  Tips please!  Last time we flew with Cilla she was just on the brink of being a crazy!  Now, she will not sit still in my lap for more than two minutes unless she is watching Mickey.  Which means I need to take our DVD player and her Mickey Mouse Clubhouse DVD!

2.  Any advice on what to do in San Diego?  Of course we are doing the zoo, the wild animal park, and Sea World!  We would love some other ideas, though!

I know I can count on you to come through!

A day in the Life...

There is hardly ever a dull moment when Cilla is around!!!

One day this week, while I was getting ready in my bathroom, I heard joyous squeals coming from the kitchen!  Once I made my way to the "party" to see what all the excitement was about I found Cilla beaming up at me with her big ole brown eyes and her mischievous grin waiting to see if I would be as excited as she was.  I wasn't.  To my surprise, I found confetti of Rice Krispies all over the kitchen.  All over the floor.  All over the cabinets.  All in the pantry.  Everywhere!  How does she find these things?

You can't not laugh, right?!?!  Thanks to her the dogs were fed breakfast and my floors got swept!

And this next little surprise has been a long time time coming....

I have heard horror stories and knew my time was near.

I am walking out of the hospital, after visiting my friend Kelly and her sweet baby Emerson, and receive this picture in a text titled "Naptime". 

My response back: "SHUT UP!  This better be a joke!"

That is right.  What you see is a bare booty up in the air!!!  Flint was working from home and offered to keep an eye on Cilla while she was napping (sounds easy enough) so that I could run up to the hospital.  Thank you for your helping to solve this crime, Summer Video Monitor, the evidence is damning!  Luckily, I got home just in time to change her sheets;)  Did I say luckily, I mean unfortunately!

Just another day in the life of a toddler!  Oh the joys!  But, I wouldn't trade these moments for anything!

Happy Valentine's Day!

What a fun day it has been!
 On top of the beautiful, warm, spring-like weather Cilla had a little party with some of her friends!  I have never been big on celebrating Valentine's Day.  I know, I know!  But, this year Valentine's Day has been the perfect opportunity to teach Cilla about love and kindness.  I so love those sweet teachable moments!

It was PURE JOY to watch these kiddos have such a fun time together.  There was lots and lots of silliness...and sugar!

Here is a little project that Cilla and I worked on one of the days we were snowed in!  I saw something similar in Pottery Barn Kids and thought that I could make something just as cute or cuter!  I was pleased with the finished the product.

Here is another little project that I started but still need to finish.  I first saw this on The Idea Room and then on Eighteen25.  I just love these!

The snow has been so beautiful but I am ready for weather that allows us to get out a little more.  Being stuck inside with a toddler two weeks on end is not easy.
My friend Kelly, has a little blog that some of you may have heard of (wink) and she posted something a few days ago that has really changed my perspective on all of this cold, snowy weather.

So, today, I am choosing to have have an attitude of gratitude.  I have so much to be thankful for so for now I am enjoying God's winter gift to us!!!

Krispy Kreme

 We had a Krispy Kreme filled weekend.  

Many of you already know about this, but for those of you that don't I can proudly announce that my darling hubby completed the Krispy Kreme Challenge in Raleigh, NC this past weekend.  Yes folks, he ran about two and a half miles, ate a dozen (soggy) Krispy Kreme donuts and ran two and a half miles back.  I am one proud wife (wink).  He and his best friend did it together and they made a great video that I happen to think is hilarious.

And since the snow continued to fall while daddy was half way across the country, some of our very best friends came over to pick up Cilla and I.  Katie and Chris have two girls- their youngest, Avery, is only a couple of months younger than Cilla.  Cilla loves loves loves Katie and Chris and their girls.  She would move in with them if we would let her!  I love that she loves them so much and I hope and pray that they are the very best of friends when they all grow up!

So, the Allen's came to rescue the two Harris damsels and where did we head first but to Krispy Kreme....in honor of daddy!

Super Bowl Sunday

*This is the big screen above the field.  It cost $40 million. Texas Stadium (where the Cowboys used to play) cost $35 million to build!!! Funny how times have changed!

*The cost to build this fine establishment actually totaled 1.5 BILLION dollars which makes it the most expensive sports venue ever built!!!  WOW!

*The video screens stretch from one 20-yard line to the other 20-yard line. 

* Jerry Jones got the idea for a high-definition center-hung board for the new Cowboys Stadium while attending a Celine Dion concert at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas.  Mitsubishi Electric’s Diamond Vision created and installed the video boards for Dion’s concert. Please don’t call the video boards a “Jumbotron” which is a Sony product.  The folks with the Cowboys and Mitsubishi will be quick to remind you that their boards are “Diamond Vision”.

Spat these fun facts off to your man and he will be proud you are the gal on his arm at the Super Bowl party!
