A Long Season

It is going to be a LONG football season for our Hogs! We made the quick jaunt down to Austin on Saturday and I should have just gone shopping! The game was (just as we anticipated) miserable!!!!! We were dominated from the opening kick off! The only good thing was that our seats were in the shade...Thanks, Peter! The Lord knew this pregnant woman could not stand the sun, the heat, and a defeat! Just as Flint and I always do, we still had fun being together. I captured a few pics that I will share.

Here is a picture of Flint with the tower in the background. We have a little inside joke about the tower. I can't reveal from whom the joke derived, but I can let you in on a little fact... The tower will light up "when they win the national championship this year"!
This is Frank Broyles and Darrell Royal at the coin toss. Two legends!

I must give Texas some props. They were much better tailgaters this go-around and their new stadium was impressive. However, we are still not in the SEC and I miss that! Their stadium was not even full and they are #8 in the country!!! WHAT?!?! Okay, I have one more funny story. We were given tickets by Flint's best friend, Peter. So, of course, we are sitting in the Texas section, which as I mentioned before a) we did not have a lot to shout about and b) we were in the shade. So this was fine by me. We did have three Razorback fans sitting about four rows behind us and a drunk Longhorn fan one row in front of us. Flint and I sat quietly and took our butt whooping, but the Hog fans behind us were cheering their little hearts out! The Longhorn fan was consistently trying to get his fellow, surrounding fans to get more into the game. Without any luck he stands up and shouts how pathetic Texas fans are and that the three Razorback fans were louder than all of them put together! Of course Flint and I loved this and were internally thrilled by the Texas fan's outward declaration! We couldn't agree more! That was probably the highlight of the day!

So sorry to hear about another defeat for your Hogs. I have a lot of Arkansas fans that share in your sorrow.

Thank you so much for your sweet comment on my blog. I am a serious pet lover! You will see lots of pictures of my Boxer, Champ, and my Ragdoll cat, Lewis, if you visit my blog very often! Oh and we are all about celebrating some pet birthdays! So glad to find someone else that does that, too!

I love your blog and will be keeping an eye on you. Please keep visiting and say hello from time to time.

Hope you have a great week!

I am SO glad you visit my blog! I was getting nervous about not feeling the baby because EVERYONE I know that has been pregnant told me they had felt the baby by now! My doctor actually said that any time up to 22 weeks is normal.

I know you all must miss Fayetteville and the Hogs! We still talk of how we love Fayetteville everytime we drive over for a game...and we haven't lived there in 35 years!!

Congratulations on the new baby!
You will be blessed by that sweet addition to your family!

I really wanted to respond to you about sleeping on your back. That was mentioned in all three books that I have, but one of them made it sound very dangerous to the baby. It said that the pressure of sleeping on your back cuts off blood supply. Well, my husband and I were up all night for two weeks constantly trying to keep me off my back. I blogged about that and got a comment that said "my doctor said it was okay as long as it was on a bed and not on a hard surface." Another blogger commented "my doctor said it was okay because if you are cutting off blood supply, you will get tingling in your extremeties and it will wake you up." So, my husband and I relaxed about it since we were going to the doctor in a few days anyway. Well, my doctor was not so lenient. She said if you occasionally roll on your back, it's okay. However, if you sleep on your back all night, like I do, it is a problem. So she told me to get a body pillow that would keep me from rolling onto my back. I would encourage you to ask your doctor and just follow that advice. I agree that you should not worry about the little things and if she gives you the okay, I would go for it.

Thank you for coming by my blog. I love having fellow mommies-to-be to commiserate with!
