One Month

Guess who is one month old today?!?!?

I know it sounds soooo cliche, but I really can't believe how fast the last month has gone! I think until you watch your baby grow up right in front of your eyes, you really don't grasp how fast life goes by! Time...please stand still! It has been a month full of ups and downs...but the most wonderful month of my life! I really never knew I could love something so much or think that such simple things were so cute! I never knew how much I loved and appreciated Flint. He has been wonderful to me and to his little girl and it melts my heart to see him with her!
A little about our life with Cilla:
*I have had up to 5 hours straight of sleep a couple of times this month. WHo knew that would feel so wonderful?!?!
*Eats every three hours during the day and between 4 to 5 hours at night. Wakes up once in the middle if the night to nurse. I usually do not put her down until about 10:30ish.
*LOVES to be held...I don't blame her!
*Rarely cries....unless she is hungry or of course wants to be held.
*LOVES her bath. She lets us pour water all over her body and on her face. If she could smile...she would! It is so cute!
*Is amazing when we go out! She loves to go...just like her mommy! She has been out about every day of her life since she was 5 days old. She has been out to eat several times, to the grocery store, to Target, shopping, to the doctor's office, to her dad's office, to several Baylor tennis matches, to a Sunday School picnic.....
Her first restaurant experience was at Jason's Deli. She slept the entire time!
*Has been left with a sitter. Her Nana stayed with her once and my friend and BSF Leader, Stephanie, kept her one night so Flint and I could have a night out.
*Loves to ride in the car.
*Thinks our puppies Sophie and Katie are interesting. A little unsure of them giving her "kisses".
*Not much of a swaddler. She has to have her arms out and is constantly flinging them around! Flint calls her the band director!
*Still has blue eyes.
*Loves for me to read her bible stories from her bible story book.
*Is a very noisy sleeper.
*Loves to curl up beside her dad and sleep...SO CUTE!
*Unfortunately, likes the TV a lot! She comes by it honest.
*Has the biggest belly I have ever seen and she loves to stick it out! But, it is so precious and so her!
*Was labeled feisty at 5 days old by her doctor and is still living up to it! She wants so badly to hold her own bottle and to hold her head up!
*Has acquired the nicknames Frogger, Chunky Monkey, LC (for Little Cilla), Cills (thanks Jordan!), and definitely gets called Cilla Grace lots.

Her Name

We have had so many questions about our sweet Cilla's name. I thought I would share a little more about where it came from.
Many of you know that Flint's precious mom passed away back in November. Her name was Priscilla. We thought the name Cilla was a little more modern and would set her apart from the other Priscillas in our family. That is why we went with Cilla.
We chose Grace because...well...we just really liked it. I have always loved the name Grace. We were actually going to use another name and we had a change of plans at the last minute.
Due to frustration and some circumstances we went to the hospital without a "girl" name picked out. We, of course, had a boy name picked out, but not a girl name. We actually talked about it on the way to the hospital to be induced and I just could not deal with it. So, after we decided to have the c-section, I told Flint to make the decision if it were a girl. I told him he could name her.
The converstaion went a little something like this:
R: You just decide. Name her whatever you want to. I truely do not care.
You know the names we have discussed over the last several months and you know how I feel about each one.
F: I can name her anything?
R: I said YES! Within reason!
And the rest is history. That is how CILLA GRACE came to be!
I thought I would share some of Flint's childhood pictures with his mom. Isn't she beautiful!?!? I hope our little Cilla is as beautiful on the inside and outside as her "Grammie". She has a lot to live up to!

Smile

She brings a smile to my face and warms my heart. I can't believe she is mine!

She is so funny with her hands and the faces she makes are hilarious. We are constantly laughing! Life has done a 180 over the last few weeks and I thank God for the gift He has blessed us with!

Life at Home

Here are a few more pics of little Cilla. I have been terrible at keeping up with posting, but all you ladies who have had a newborn and who have survived sleepless nights can understand.......
Here we are arriving home from the hospital.
Our first two girls (Katie and Sophie) were so glad to see us but a little unsure of the present we brought home for them!!!
Our First Family Picture
Trying to get a baby and two puppy dogs to cooperate is next to impossible!
My Girl
(not my best picture)

She loves her bouncy seat and I am hoping that love lasts. This will allow me to eat and brush my teeth!

The girls feeling sorry for themselves!

Cilla's first walk

Being a mom is much harder than I ever imagined it would be. I love my daughter more than I can put into words and can't get enough of her which helps keep me going each day. We are slowly getting to know her and what makes her happy, so each day gets a little better and a little easier! My mom has been here since she was born and I can not tell you enough about how wonderful she has been to us! I kind of feel like she is now passing the torch to me and I am not adequate enough to take it and run with it! I have some really big shoes to fill! I only hope that I can be half the mother that my mom is.

I will do better at posting, but for now I wanted to keep all of our followers happy with a few pics of our sweet little girl.

Cilla's Birthday and Hospital Stay

Introducing
Cilla Grace Harris
Our Sweet Little Girl
right before going home from the hospital
Sorry for the delay. We have had little access to internet the last couple of days, not to mention the days have been crazy! We are home now and oh so happy to be! I wanted to share a few pics of our sweet little girl. I will share more details and pics later but hopefully this will give everyone a chance to see her.

Seriously, Flint is so taken by her! I love watching him hold her, talk to her, and love on her! It melts my heart!

Right before leaving the hospital.
Thanks for all the sweet comments and for all the love you have shown to us over the last few days. We feel so blessed to have such wonderful family, friends, and bloggy friends!!! There will more to come soon. But for now, I have to go feed my baby!

I haven't forgotten you

Hi... It's Kelly again. :)

As you see I have yet to post a picture. And I'm sorry.
Rebekah has informed me that the hospital does not have internet access and she is unable to
send a picture at this time. I know there is a lot of you out there that can't wait to see this beauty but we are going to have to be patient a little longer.
Trust me I want to see her just as bad as you do.

We have an update

I just heard from Rebekah. She reported that she is now preparing for a c-section.
She is fine and the baby is fine but they are just not seeing the progress that they would like.

They are preparing for the c-section within the next hour so we should hear something real soon. Stay tuned and I will post the second I hear something.

And if all goes well we will get a picture of that adorable little baby just as quickly. :)

Moving right along

I just heard from Rebekah. She is now dialated to a 3.
She has received an epidural at this point and seems to be feeling JUST FINE :)

She says "I'm sitting pretty" so I'm guessing all it well at this point.

Really no other news to report.. but will keep you updated when I know something.

The BIG Day!!!

Good Morning..

This is Rebekah's friend Kelly and I have the honor of keeping everyone in the know of Rebekah's progress today. We will be communicating via text and phone since I'm in Fayetteville and she is in Waco so I will do my best to keep you up to date with her progress.

The Doctor broke her water at 9:00 am this morning and started her on Pitocen. And she quotes "everything is pretty good now". I asked her if she had any pain and she said very little.

More updates as soon as I get them.

Hillarious

I have watched this video about ten times and it makes me laugh hysterically every time! I have needed some good laughs this week! Enjoy!
**Let me preface this video by stating that all of you who know me know that I love dogs and I would never do anything to bring harm to any animal. I am confident that NO harm was brought to this puppy dog...besides maybe some hurt pride!!!

D Day

Monday will be the day. I am scheduled to go in to be induced
Monday, March 9th
at 8 am!
Whoa! I feel like I lose my stomach every time I think about it!
I covet any prayers! There are so many emotions that run through my veins as I think about Monday! It will be the happiest day of my life. There are so many fears as well- the labor and delivery, the baby's health, the changes and transitions ahead for our little family, our puppy dogs, oh so many things. We will go from being a happy little couple to being a family of three and being a mommy and a daddy (not just the parents of two sweetie pie puppy girls). What a difference a day can make! I go from overflowing with excitement one minute to being scared out of my mind the next! But I know the Lord will be in that room with us and I have complete confidence in our amazing doctor...seriously, I think he is the BEST! So, Monday is the BIG day. Oh my goodness...I better get going. I have SO much I still need to do...............

One Week and Counting

You heard me right! I had my weekly appointment this afternoon and the doc said if we had not had the Little One by this time next week, he will induce! I guess he is feeling sorry for this big mama and thinks I am about to pop!!! Who cares that is music to my ears!! Hooray!!! I have had a good nine (almost ten) months, but man I sure am ready to be delivered from being preggers and ready to hold our sweet little baby in my arms! I will keep you posted!

Attention ALL Mommies

Alright. The panic mode is kicking in! Do I have what I need? What am I going to do with this baby once we get home? I know we all say we have baby-sat, but there is just something different about your baby being the one up all night crying and upset. This is a little person that I am now fully responsible for!!! My mom is planning to be here for at least a week, but it could be as much as 2 1/2 weeks, depending on when the little bit arrives. I am trying to get some meals made and put in the freezer for nights we need something to eat. I feel like I have everything set up and almost in order, I am just waiting on the chair to be recovered for the nursery. Bag packed. Check. Well, almost...there is a list of some things I need to grab. "Call" list made. Check "To Do" list on the way out the door. Check. Arrangements for our puppy girls. Check. I am getting my car cleaned today and then installing the car seat. You think you think of EVERYTHING....and then it hits you like a ton of brinks.... So, I am asking for advice on:

-Things you wish you would have known.
-Any tips you have.
-Must haves.
-Things you had, but never used.
-What I need at the hospital.
-What I need once I get home.
-Things I can do now to make my life easier in a couple of weeks.
-Whatever you've got...hit me with it!!!!

Under Construction

Just as I am a constant piece of work....This blog was needing some work, too- a face lift and some other updates. In the process I learned that apparently I need to update some things on our home computer and some other things that are, quite frankly, way over my computer illiterate head!!! SO...please bear with me. I lost many of the links in the sidebar and some other things as I started making changes. However, I am making some progress! I am trying to get it all taken care of so we can have a cute new blog.
