Razorfest 2012

There has been a lot of hype over the Razorback football team the past few weeks and Razorfest and the spring football game were no exception!  Flint took Cilla this year to Razorfest and I met up with them a little late.  They had a big ole time!  What a difference a year makes.  Last year Cilla was overwhelmed by the mass amount of people and wanted to be carried the entire time.  This year was quite the opposite.  Little Miss was ready to go and do it all!  The monstrous bounce houses did not stop her.  She climbed right up and slid right down and then wanted to cut to the front of the line and do it all over again!
.....and because everything this child wears should have pink in it......we had to find a RED and PINK outfit for the occasion!!!
The morning started with pancakes per Cilla's request.  Daddy and Poppa were her breakfast dates.
I told you the bounce houses didn't phase her!
 All smiles!
Daddy's little Razorback.
It was a fun treat to see some of our friends.  Cilla loves her Stella!  And I love that her arm is around Stella's neck...literally!  They are such sweet little friends and they have so much fun together.
Cilla also got to see another one of her besties, Anna Kate!  She loves Anna Kate.  A LOT!  She is such a lover.  Her friends hold such a special place in her heart and she is so loyal to them!  I love that about her!
Marci tried to get Anna Kate to go down the big slide with her, but Anna Kate bailed.  So, Cilla was there to step in without any hesitation!
Such a fun day!

Never a Dull Moment

This week has been crazy and busy and busy and crazy!
We have been on the go.  Unfortunately, I did a horrible job of taking pictures.  But, I have a few to share and I have a couple of stories that I have to document because I simply can't forget them!
Friday we had a little play date.  My friends Lindsey, Katie and Candice came over so our four crazy two year olds could run off a little energy!  Did they ever!!!  It was a riot to watch them run and squeal and knock each other over the head with toys!  Sound like fun?!?!  In the mean time, Flint was at a Razorback football luncheon and according to the guys it was a lot of fun and we {the girls} should go next year!

So, back to my house.  As nap time rapidly approached our friends started leaving so I turned on "Mickey" in my bedroom as a last ditch effort to get Cilla to sit still and calm down before her nap time.  Great idea, right?  Wrong.  Here is where the story gets a little gross.  *Disclaimer: I don't normally put this kind of grossness out there for everyone to read, but since I use this blog to document our life as the Harris family, I feel like I have to document the good, the bad and the ugly.  And this will go down in the books as "The Ugly!"  Back to the story.  I was picking up and chatting with one of my mommy friends, Candice whose hubbie was also at the luncheon with Flint, when little Laci comes marching into the living room looking for some toilet paper.  {You can probably guess where this is going.}  Candice immediately ran into my bedroom, to find the bio-hazard zone.  Cilla had a "dirty" diaper halfway off and "poo" was smeared all over my bed and upon closer observation all over both girls!!!  WHAT. IN. THE. HECK?!?!  Seriously, next year I am going to the football luncheon!!!
After fumigating the room, hosing down the girls and about four loads of laundry things were back to normal.  Or as normal as normal can be!  We bravely had Laci and her mommy over again tonight while the daddies were busy drafting their football teams.
We were off to a good start by making chocolate chip cookies!
And all was going well until the tots disappeared out to the deck and the mommies were in the kitchen cleaning up the cookies and making dinner.  They reappear COVERED in sunscreen.  Yep, that's right!  It is ALL over both girls.  ALL over the deck.  ALL over everything in the line of fire!  These two are NUTS!
Are we seeing a reoccurring trend, besides the fact that they need constant supervision?!?!  I am pretty sure these two will be in lots of trouble together over the years.  Heaven help us!
Like I said, never a dull moment!  Never!

Coach Flint

As if we need anything else on our plate...Flint has been helping coach our friend's son's football team the last few weeks.  Aside from the heat, I think he is having fun with it!  Of course, that is right up his alley!
This is what you miss having a girl!!!  Little guys in football pads are so cute!
Cilla and I picked a free night to go out and take a looksie at all the fun.
Cilla had fun playing with Titus and Kate.  She loves Titus.  She talks about him all the time.  It could be because he has lots of fun toys at his house or possibly because he is so full of energy and funny.  Either way, Cilla loves to be around him.
And what is not to love?!?  Can you say male model?!?  He loves to have his picture taken and pretty sure the camera likes him right back!
The football was fun but as usual, with a two year old, I didn't watch much of it!

Better Together

Cilla loves loves loves to be around people and other kids, so I try hard to make sure every couple of days she gets to play with some of her friends.  I think she gets so bored with me...and I can't say that I blame her!!!
We played with our sweet friends Stella, Emerson and Sydney one day this week.  The girls love one another and play really well together.
How cute are they?!
 Tea for two!
 Stella's sassy pose!
This little gal is tutu cute and we love her!
 Friday is playgroup day.
Despite the chaos, we love our playgroup and the friendships within.  There is something about having other ladies right where you are in life.  We encourage each other.  Laugh at each other's stories...a lot.  Support one another.   Blah blah, I know.  But I love each and every mommy in the group and Cilla loves her little friends too!
Today we met to play at the Scott's house (thanks sweet Sara for opening up your home!) and then went to Chick-Fil-A for lunch.  I am pretty sure when Cilla outgrows loving Chick-Fil-A, I will go on sabbatical from eating there!!!  But for this stage of life, it is easy and the kids love it!
We seem to have taken up about a fourth of the restaurant!  They were probably glad to see us go!
And just because they are cute...Hannah, Jillian and Cilla!  Love these girlies!
So thankful for sweet friendships.

Sweet Baby Cooper

On Saturday, I had the privilege of hosting a baby shower for one of my very best friends, Katie and her Sweet Baby Cooper.
We decided on a sweet shop theme since Katie LOVES sweets so much!
Yummy goodies.
Oreo Pops.  Chocolate Fountain.  Candy Bar.
We had diaper wreaths on the front door..... with candy accents, of course!

Lots of little details naming the man of the hour!  Baby Cooper James!!!
CUPCAKES!  What is a sweet shop without cupcakes?!?!
The cup cake cups and straws were ordered off of Etsy and turned out so cute!
 Brownie {Ice Cream} Sundaes
These were not ice cream at.  Just a brownie with icing on top!
 The Food Table
 The Sweet Shoppe
Grab a bag and fill it with candy!

We wanted something that guests could sign and that Katie could use in the nursery.  After searching several ideas and doing a little tweaking, I came up with this.....
 His monogram painted on blocks!!!

Christmas balls filled with candy hung from the light fixture.
Hostesses.
Alaina, Erin, me, Katie, Andrea, Cari, Meredith and Candice
 Katie's family
 Paige"y", Katie's oldest daughter and Cilla's bestie!
 Katie and I
 Candice and Katie
Katie's dearie friend, Rachel, made her this fabulous canvas to hang in Cooper's nursery.  I just love it!
It was such a "Sweet" and perfect day!
Our friend Lindsey took some great pictures at the shower.  She also made the invite and the Thank You notes which we gave Katie as a Hostess gift addressed by all the guests!  What mom doesn't love that?!?!  Thanks Linds, for sharing you talents!!!

Wedding Bells

So, the main reason for heading to Texas was for Jordan and Ben's wedding.  Did I mention that the wedding and the bride and every little detail was absolutely gorgeous?!?!  Jordan worked with Flint at Baylor and is so sweet and smart and beautiful!  She was also a Tri Delt at Baylor so we always had that fun bond as well!!!   And of course, Flint liked to make fun of us!  But I am used to it after all these years!  Ben played golf and coached at Baylor which explains the groom's cake in the previous post!
My wedding date!
Flint, Ben, Jordan, me and Katie
Katie is one of our besties from our time in Waco.  She would always come to our house for dinner.  She would come over to swim with us.  She would watch Cilla and even our dogs for us.  We even went on a road trip together before Cilla was born!  She was and is such a dear friend and I am so thankful God brought her into my life.  I definitely can't imagine our time in Waco without her friendship and she will always be a dear friend!  It was so good to see her!
So, on to the food.  The food was literally the cutest thing ever!
The menu consisted of yummy salad, grilled chicken skewers, chicken fried steak skewers, barbecue brisket sliders, and get ready for this...
a mashed potato bar and a mac'n'cheese bar!
That is not a new concept to me but for some reason I had never seen it presented in such a cute way!  Oh, and it was delicious!!!

I know it is a little weird that I took a picture of my food, but I could not resist.  It was so stink'in cute!
Congrats Jordan and Ben!
We love you and are so so so happy for you.  We wish you many years of happiness and pray God richly blesses your marriage.  May you always keep Him in the center of of your relationship!
Oh, and have fun in St. Lucia.

Texas on My Mind

This past weekend we head south to Fort Worth and Dallas.  It always a bonus when we have something to go to because we usually get to see lots of our friends and of course, Flint's dad, all in one short period of time.
Family road trips!

We stopped to see our friends, Tim and Holly, on our way into Fort Worth and we finally got to meet their BEAUTIFUL daughter, Caroline.  However, I failed to get a picture.  Shame on me!!!
Friday, Cilla and I headed to Dallas to spend some time with my bestie, Laura!  Our time together is certainly not what it used to be, but it is precious nonetheless!  Now we are both chasing crazy toddlers around.  Definitely not dull!
Cilla loved riding Braysen's horse, Lucky!  Shocker!
And look at this blue-eyed cutie!  He is so fun and full of personality and I just love him!
However, I am not so sure these two love each other as much as their mommies love each other!  But, I know that in time they will!
After we left Laura and Braysen's house, Cilla and I made a quick stop by Bubba's.  Absolutely, without a doubt BEST fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, rolls and homemade lemonade EVER!  Hands down.
Cilla loved her chicken dipped in gravy
...and her delicious homemade roll!!!  What's not to love?!?!
Friday afternoon, Cilla opted out of her nap.  That seems to be a reoccurring trend around our house and is always a recipe for disaster.  Friday evening was no exception.  We got a late start to dinner (also a recipe for disaster) at one of our favorite places, Pappadeaux!
This picture speaks a thousand words.  This was one tired little angel girl.
The first half of dinner was not too bad.  Coloring with Susu.
But, it went south very quickly.  She enjoyed her shrimp cocktail.
But about halfway through dinner Cilla had had enough!  Let's face it, 2 year olds can only stand so much and especially with no nap!  She had a fall onto a rock wall and hit her head, sweet girl. Then she woke up in the middle of the night throwing up!  It is never easy traveling with a toddler!
So, Pappy and Susu kept an already not so rested Cilla while Flint and I went to a wedding in Plano Saturday night...more pics to come...and guess who was still up partying when mom and dad got home at 11:30?!  You guessed it!!!
How cute is this cake?!?
And as if we had not had enough fun for the weekend, we stopped in Dallas (again) to see the Pardues on our way out of town!  Cilla and Harper just had to have some time together!  LOVE these two cuties!  Doing a little shopping after lunch.
(Please disregard the syrup all over Cilla's shirt!  What's a Sunday brunch without Pancakes and Syrup?!)
Cilla thought Harper was hilarious drinking from the Texas Rangers cup!
And I happen to think that both of these sillies are hilarious!
It was a super duper busy weekend and I am super duper tired.  But, we loved all of our time with family and friends!
